The departure is from the Rifugio Sapienza ( at 1.910 m a.s.l. - South Etna) at 08.30am

You take first a modern cable car afterwards a special off road minibus getting up to 2.900m to the area "Torre del Filosofo", where accompanied by authorized mountain guide you will reach by foot 3.300m surpassing the difference in height approximately of 400 m in 1,30 hour.

Arrived on the wide craterique area of the central cone, we visit the voragines of the peak zone which are always actives (ETNA).

The descent could take place:

A) Long the Versante Sud where is possible explore the flows of the recent eruptions of 2001/02/03. The duration of the descent is approximately 2 hours and a half and the difference in height reaches 1400 metres

B) Long Versante Nord, out of any path or any trace untill the Monte Baracca locality. Durantion approximately 3 hours and the difference in height is app 1.500 metres.

Notes: The itinerary may be changed by the guide due to weather conditions, atmopherics troubles, snow storms, geodinamic activities and other similar reasons. Nevertheless is recommended begin in a good health for all participants and the absence of the pulmonary and heart's pathologies.
